MIMZ & THE JAE BEDFORD BAND

Jae is currently working on new material for the 'Rock Bottom' album.     The material is proving to be Jae's most personal album to date.    He has laid down pre-production demos for ....Turnig points, Any other summer, Otherside, Memories & tons of others.   Jae is working with his favorite musicians on this album including Miriam 'Mimz' Craig(JBB/Catatonic), Simon Tester(JBB/Dogfighter), Pete Pholi(JBB/Dragonfly), Jesse 'Jester' Hewitt(Dust n Bones/Mistress), James Vandershauw(The Rebels) and Lou Bragg(The Rebels/Boogie Train).     Jae is making absolute use of technology for this album as far as long distance recording goes.    Jae & Mimz are filming a video for 'Dreams' before the wedding and their move to Wellington.  Check out some of the new demo's-I can hardly breath & Take it easy on me...online now

Mimz & Jae have officially announced they will be regrouping and moving to The capital city, Wellington.  Soon to be follwed by the bands bass player/Guitarist Peet Pholi.     Jae said "Dunedin has been good to me and we wish to leave in style and give their audience something they have never seen."   So on the 7th of November @ the illustrious Fortune Theatre they will perform a one off acoustic show with special guests, Including-Gary Moss, Vebka, Phil Corfield(The Troubadors) Bill Morris, The St Pauls Choir, Tim Blackler, Mahon & Jordon Redding and some special suprises.   The show will mostly be new songs from the forthcoming acoustic studio album 'Rock Bottom' and a couple of newer tracks from 'Telling stories with chords' and 'One night stand.   They promise this to be a 'Once in a life time concert', There will be no leaning on the old classics ie-One True Thing & 1/4 life crisis etc.    Jae says "Mimz & I are writing the strongest material of our carears and this show will be fresh and vibrant, we wont be needing the standard classic hits tracks".

Tickets will go on on sale October 15th support acts will be Vebka + Phil Corfield..

Tickets will cost $10 or $8 under typical concession conditions.

The band are looking at a gradule New Zealand Concert series of Theatre's.   Next stop will be the Court Theatre in Christchurch date to be announced.  These will also be special guest shows.   Which will also feature Jae n Mimz's friends and old band mates from these centre's.  Including Simon Tester, Jessie Hewitt & a few surprises.

Telling stories with chords -Jae Bedford

Jae has worn many hats, the rock cameloen, the troubador, the prolific songwriter, the bluesman and whiskey stained country singer. Jae is feeling so much more at home now in his own person & creatively. His new album 'Telling stories with chords' is the evidence of his new found comfort & faith.

The Album is a journey from start to finish. The 1st Track 'Beta Daze' with shades of 'Springsteen' has all the qualities of a bonified country/rock stadium anthem. Track 2 'Dreams' is a rock radio gem, a pure love song. Produced & co-written with Christchurch based Simon Tester.

Lonesome is a tribute to the songwriting greats lyrical references to some of them- Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Johnny Cash and more. One true thing finishes the album beautifully, sounding very much like an authentic blues classic with it's analogue recording qualities.

This album introduces Jae's Fiance Miriam Craig (Who Dreams is written about) with her amazing vocal talent. Miriam or Mimz is a Vision College music student. Mimz ads a txture to the vocal landscape of the album.

Jae say's collaboration is the key to his new found creative freedom. Collaborating on this album with Violinist, Karel Ploranski on 2 tracks as well as Miriam Craig, Simon Tester, Anton Harris and Jessie Hewitt. But despite these healthy Colaborations, the digital age has bought Jae new freedoms. Jae plays more on this album than any other, including bass, guitar, mandolin, sampling, percussion as well as engineering and producing most of the record.
